The New York Times reports Hurricane Sandy has taken a huge toll on the Chelsea art district. Gallery owners and employees - some calm and philosophical, some too distraught to speak - have been sorting through artworks, separating those that were irrevocably damaged from those that stood a good chance of being restored.
