Since 1994 Clinton Watkins and Richard Francis have worked collaboratively under the moniker 1000. They regularly perform and produce recordings that focus on creating stark and intense minimal/maximal compositions of electronically generated noise. One Step Further From Birth, which is part of our upstairs group show of works by represented artists, is a limited edition lathe-cut LP including a link to free mp3 downloads.

Upstairs at Starkwhite we are presenting works by represented artists, including Clinton Watkins' Force Field. Over the past 15 years Watkins has worked with combinations of sonic and visual material. With this work he translates sonic frequencies into minimal colour fields through customised audio/visual hardware.

Upstairs we are showing works by a number of represented artists, including Glen Hayward's Closed Circuit. Hayward is at the end of a three-month residency at Altes Spital in Solothurn, Switzerland and will return to Auckland later this month to take up a McCahon House residency in August.
